Authenticity of Verdejo in an exceptional landscape

Prehistórico Vino de Nieva 2023 is a limited edition from Bodegas Naia, with 1,074 bottles produced from 75-year-old vines grown in sandy soils with slate outcrops, cultivated biodynamically. Aged for 9 months in barrel on its lees, it comes from the D.O. Rueda and reflects a handcrafted, low-intervention approach. A mineral, complex and elegant Verdejo.

An ideal pairing for baked turbot, seafood brothy rice dishes, and mushroom risottos.

A wine of great complexity, with tension and a distinctive mineral character.

Spicy, with hints of beeswax and a long, elegant finish.

PRODUCTION

Hand-harvested in 15 kg crates. Whole-cluster maceration in a cold chamber, bunch selection on a sorting table, pressing and spontaneous fermentation in French oak barrels.

This wine reflects a respectful, low-intervention winemaking philosophy; therefore, natural sediments may appear in the bottle.

AGING

Aging in barrels for 9 months in contact with its lees.
